CHERISH

What is CHERISH?

The CHERISH study is being done because Louisiana has a high burden of cardiovascular disease, especially inthe African American community.

The overall goal of CHERISH is to implement the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association Guideline on the Primary Prevention ofCardiovascular Disease in the AfricanAmerican community to help eliminatecardiovascular health disparities.

We plan to have Community Health workers in 42 African American Churches across denominations in New Orleans to lead health related community programs.

“CHERISH will be a great opportunity to find best ways to help people help themselves.”
